    CONTE EN ANGLAIS

    CONTE EN ANGLAIS

ANANSI AND TURTLE One day Anansi the spider picked some very fat and tasty yams from his garden. He baked them with much care and they came out smelling quite delicious. He could not wait to sit down and eat them. Just then there was a knock at his door. It was Turtle, who had been traveling all day and was very tired and hungry. "Hello, Anansi," said Turtle. "I have been walking for so long, and I smelled the most delicious yams I've ever smelled. Would you be so kind as to share your meal with me?" Anansi could not refuse, as it was the custom in his country to share your meal with visitors at mealtime. But he was not very happy, for Anansi was a little too greedy and wanted the delicious yams all to himself. So Anansi thought to himself and came up with a scheme. "Please do come in, Turtle. I would be honored to have you as my guest this evening. Sit down, have a chair and help yourself." Turtle came inside and sat down, but just as he reached for a yam, Anansi yelled, "Turtle, don't you know better than to come to the table with dirty hands?" Turtle looked down at his hands and saw that they were filthy. He had been crawling all day and had not had a chance to clean up. Turtle got up and went to the river to clean his feet. He walked all the way back up to the house and Anansi had already begun to eat. "I didn't want these tasty yams to get cold, so I had to begin," said Anansi. "But please do join me now, Turtle." Turtle sat down again and reached for a yam, but again Anansi yelled at him. "Turtle, did you not hear me before? It is not polite to come to the table with dirty hands!" He looked down and saw that his clean hands had turned dirty once more, since he had to crawl on them to get back to the house. So he walked down to the river once more to wash himself off. And when he returned this time, he was careful to walk on the grass so his hands would stay clean. But by the time he sat down at the table, Anansi had finished up the last bit of the tasty yams and not so much as a morsel was left. Turtle looked at Anansi for a moment and then said, "Thank you for sharing your meal with me. If you ever find yourself near my house, please let me return the favor." And then he slowly walked out the door and continued on his way. The days went by and Anansi thought more and more of that meal that Turtle had offered. He got more and more interested in a free dinner and finally could not stand it anymore. He set off one day to find Turtle's house. He found Turtle sunning himself on a riverbank just around dinnertime. Turtle looked up and saw him and said, "Hello, Anansi, have you come to share evening meal with me?" "Oh yes, yes!" said Anansi, who was growing hungrier and hungrier by the minute. Turtle went underwater to his house to set up the dinner table for the two of them. Soon he came back to the bank and said, "Your place is waiting and the food is ready. Please join me, Anansi." And then he dived underwater and began to slowly eat his meal. Anansi jumped into the water, but could not get down to the bottom of the river. He tried to swim down, but he was so light that he kept popping back up to the surface. He tried diving. He tried belly flops. He tried a running jump, but nothing would help him get down to the river bottom. In the meantime, Turtle was slowly eating his meal. Anansi was not about to give up a free meal, and was running around wondering what he would do. Finally he had an idea. He started grabbing stones and rocks and stuffed them into his jacket pockets. Now when he jumped into the water he sank right down to the bottom and was able to take his place at the table. The table was so beautiful and full of delicious foods. Anansi could hardly believe how many tasty foods were before him and could not wait to start his meal. But just as he reached for the first morsel, Turtle stopped eating and spoke. "In my country, we do not wear our jackets to the table." Anansi noticed that Turtle had removed his own jacket before sitting down. Anansi started to remove his jacket, and as soon as it was off of his shoulders, he went zooming back up to the surface and popped out onto the riverbank. He stuck his head down into the water and saw Turtle slowly enjoying that wonderful banquet. Moral of the story: When you try to outsmart someone, you may find that you're the one outsmarted.

    WASSILATOUL MAQASIDI(version anglaise)

    26/02/2011 18:55

Praise of the prophet by Cheikhna Sheik Saadbou 1848-1917 "Wassîlatoul Maqâssidi." NB/This religious poem of an extraordinary beauty and so limpid a purity is a panegyric to the glory of the prophet Mouhammad (P B U H) written by his disciple and grandson Cheikhounâ Sheik Saa' dou Abihi Ibn Cheikhounâ Sheik Mouhammad Fâdil. It is a masterpiece when it comes to praises addressed to the best of the beings created (Seydina Mouhammad,(PBUH) by the saint man of Nim-zaat who is the one who firmly established the Haquiqa Mouhammadiya (the Islamic mystic) in West Africa.(From the borders of the western Sahara to the Akan country in Ghana.)It is without any doubt one of the greatest panegyrics ever written on the Prophet. Its title in Arabic is "Wassîlatoul Maqâssidi." In the Name of ALLAH, the Merciful, the Beneficient.MayPeace and Salvation (of ALLAH) be upon our Revered Prophet Mouhammad , His family and companions Cheikhounaa Cheikhou Saa' dou Abîhi said: Certainly, the desire (of Allah) to carry out Creation passed by His desire to create Ahmed, to reveal what was hidden .His is noblest among all those who have to live under the skies And the best of all those recovered by dust (those who are buried) .The greatest of the distinctions is to see the essence of Allah (This was) an exclusive honor for the Master of the Masters. By him the heavenly world exists as well as the terrestrial world. In his honor are the treasures of subsistence opened to the beings existing in all the horizons. By his light is enlightened all that is in Creation. It is by him also, that the secrecy of the mutual assistance is given to the admirers. Allah testified him generosity through HIS conversation and HIS presence(This was) an honor by the station and prostration (the prayer) He made of him the supreme guide of His Famous Prophets in Al Aqsaa Mosque and in any other place He made of him the Access road of the creatures(to Him Allah) And He granted him particularly the greatest of the greatness - Reject what the people of Jesus said of him (that he is son of God) and quote all the prerogatives on him His presence is eternal in the proximity of the Essence of the Essence(the reality of God)He ended up merging in the Divine Essence with the Signs; With the passage of times, His Book remains up. to-date .We do not fear its deterioration and it will never disappear. He is the desire (of Allah) among all the creatures And he is the honor by the original esteem He is the candle which lights the sky and the earth and He is the intercessor of each one among us and the others He is the only one who is given all that he wants. Certainly, His equal will not be given birth any more by a woman. I swear by Allah that there is neither on earth nor in the sky an equal to Ahmed among the creatures The Affectionate one (Wadoudou) (Allah) wished Moustafa (chosen) for its creatures and that, of His generosity, for them, is enough. A part of them believed (in him) and a part has undergone the divine regulation then the rejection and the abandonment. You withdrew yourself (far) from pleasure and beauty of life you have chosen the proximity of Allah’s essence- The splendor (attractiveness) of the prophets of Allah on ground, it is you and it is you the beauty of the sky. Has made an error when it comes to the just and right way to think and to all the common senses, he who does not consider him as the Master of the Universes. It is enough for you the praises of the close friend (of Allah) what was revealed (about him) in the précis of the Revelation (Koran) It is enough for you the praise of the son of Abdallâh.His ascent towards the Tree of the final station (Sidratoul Mountaha) He is far from any comparison, the one who left behind him immobile the best of the illustrious Angels and continued to go up. Taaha towards where the human thought never had place and conversed in these places with Allah Very High Are of good nobility his origins and of great lines his descendance .Is universal (general) his utility. He purified him before all that, for that. And never have any among those who have been honored (prophets) obtained that.Oh how good is this Prophet, the most honorable! Any among the elected ones cannot equal him.Oh how good he is this supreme leader! It is impossible to reach an unspecified rank without his approval what happiness if I were the sand that adheres to its shoes! And what happiness that he honors me (Him the Prophet) by my accomplishment in him. Each Prophet, the day when the human ones will be resuscitated, will feel secure only under the banner of Mustapha Each one of them will be called out for the intercession- None of them will answer his interpellator in that moment .Each one, except my grand- father, will be (in that moment) indigent And he will be in opulence by the grace of the Creator There is, among the universes, none equal for him And he is the receptacle of any praise which one pronounces about him. Weren’t it him, no existence would arise from another And we would not have the privilege of the inclination and prostration (the prayer) It is for him that were created the things and were spread the subsistence and the gifts. He who by self-satisfaction chooses a way other than his, has for sure not taken the way of righteousness- Him who looked at Allah with his own eyes How can he be compared with the totality of the human beings? Him whose satisfaction Allah made His own there is a providence which cannot be attributed to any one other than him. HE invested him with a full prophecy HE invested him from the beginning to the end why is he pointed to as the best of all. Isn’t it true that his origin is extracted from a whole lot for a whole lot- I agree on his praise, wherever it can be voiced from -That he is the best of creatures unreservedly! A praise addressed to someone else other than him is useless For, except what is said about him, any praise for sure not is successful Any poet who does not say a poem on the praise of the prophet harms himself by his poetry and his inspiration He appointed him made the supreme authority at all levels on any prophet raised in the high divine places He made of it the supreme leader by honor over all honored Among His honored prophets and His angels. He distributed the subsistence of the creatures by his hands and so the highest rose higher until he reached the consecration which one can reach only by the grace of God and piety! He fixed himself by his presence in God after his extinction (from life)He reached in the divine proximity what is the true wish He was satisfied with Allah as his Lord He was for Allah the glorious one, a friend He lost sight of the two worlds because of divine sciences He is a refuge against all the sources of danger He rose in honor He reached in the proximity of God more than He asked for He made him take the nightly journey to bring him closer to HIM .He transcended by his rise and its extreme height He rose in the holy stations He triumphed by the high distinctions The hand of he who doesn’t show him a sincere affection is damned .he who doesn’t have him as a spokesman is also damned.A cloud would protect him by the days of heat never before him had a distinguished man had that HE re-asserted Him in the night of the nightly journey He was disturbed neither by what he saw, nor by what was revealed to him HE re-asserted him, He wasn’t frightened by what he saw in the night when He was elevated HE re-asserted Him for the vision of the wonders And He saw the most astonishing of the astonishing things His prerogatives are in fact incalculable And human intellectual ability in that field is limited The Seal of the prophets, does not have in fact an equal , Honor Him for He is the announcer of the good news and He is also the Warner. The best creature, without exception, is the son of Abdullah, with unanimity That is on what the scholars companions of the prophet (PBUH) are all of the same opinion;, he who disputes it is excluded by his unbelief .He defended the religion with the sword of Truth And He did not leave any concession to vileness- the edge of its sword on the enemies is more frightening than the lightnings of the sky He promoted His religion (Islam) above all the religions, in the same way that his nobility is above that of the creatures. He who follows him and adopts his jurisprudence , certainly gains in straightness and in happiness He harmed himself, lost and disowned , who does not agree with the best son of Moudar on the question of uprightness. He gets angry is only for Allah and is satisfied only with HIS satisfaction, for, he does not look at and does not see anyone excepted HIM .He rose higher by the forgiveness of all the sins committed before (his birth) and after (its death) the forgiveness of the sin was granted to him before that it had been committed And, except him, nobody had this privilege among those who were privileged His presence is permanent in the proximity of The Supremacy and of the Divine Majesty and his preoccupation The elevation and the achievement (in God) His presence in the divine proximity is higher than that of All the prophets And the elevation of the saints is in that way, certainly a heritage HIM WHO owns all that is endowed with locomotion(Allah)testified his supremacy on all the beings The highest qualities of the envoy, by the poetic genres, cannot be quantified throughout the generations. If each one had lived thousand years, And ever be seized by the shortest somnolence And that he writes in the techniques of versification called "Tawil and" Bassît " poems as beautiful as the most invaluable gold And that he writes in the technique of Madîd and Khafîf And that he weighs his versification in the technique of Israaf and Tafîf And that he writes in the technique of waafir then of Kaamil a beautiful poetry with a well distinguished versification And that he writes in the technique of Moujtass and Sarîî- And that he continues in the technique of Rafî-`i and Wadî-`i And that he composes poem in the technique of Mounsarih and that he writes in the technique of Malqouz and Mouncharih And that he says in the technique of Hazaj the best one can say And that he says in the technique of Rajaz the longest speech And that he writes poems of the most beautiful esthetics In the technique of Moutaqaarib and Moustadrik And that he writes in the technique of Ramal and Moudaara' poems similar to shining pearls And that he writes something similar to that In the technique of Mouqtadabe,he would not complete by his poetry the praise of the Prophet How can men think of having the power to finish praises said by Allah? HE sang his qualities of characters and exalted Him, HE chose him for HIS proximity, HE discussed with him by his life and His time HE has also sworn, And it is there all the limit of honor. I call upon You, Oh My LORD, on the honor of the most remarkable, to forgive every sin that Sa' dou Abîhi may have committed !Forgive the sins of his descendants and of his parents And his wife and all those who are linked to him-Pour all the benefits on him And never direct misdeeds towards him Grant him safety and satisfaction By all the importance of the praise of the Master of creations And the success in the two worlds by the benefit And at the time of his burial, by forgiveness, a providence by pure benevolence And with all that ÔH!Creator of Times a peace of time and residence And the abundance and the proximity of time and residence I beg YOU in the name of Mustapha the descendant of Adnaan For us, for our children and our brothers And for all those who are known for their belief (in Allah and HIS Prophet) And the success by sciences and knowledge And by all that contains the satisfaction of the Merciful until I can be seen as the most perfect of humans in dimension and power firmly planted- And a long life increasing the benefit I beg it for me and for my children And by the praises of the one whose most eulogistic praise You are satisfied with I beseech You, oh My LORD! Grant me my goal by the praise of the one whose most powerful praise You are satisfied with. Be benevolent for he t who, when it comes to worship, is impotent- By the praise of the one whose numerous praises YOU are satisfied with- Would be benevolent for he who is weak and small, a benevolence which honors me by the providence. May I not be the object of any crime! I called it theACCESS ROAD to any goal (that one proposes himself) -In That it contains praises of the most Excellent. Then, Peace and Salvation, more, on your Prophet and spread in abundance on His family and His distinguished companions .As many times, as what is incomplete is honored by what complete it. Praise to Allah eternally and thanks to Him.
